What are The Iowa Tests®?

The Iowa Tests of Basic Skills® (Grades K-8) and Iowa Tests Educational Development® (Grades 9-11/12) are sufficient for NC home school requirements for an annual nationally standardized test. These tests can be administered in your own home by someone with at least a BA degree.

The Iowa Tests® measure the skills and achievement of students in grades K - 11/12 in Reading , Language Arts, Mathematics and the optional tests of Social Studies, Science, and Sources of Information.  (Refer to www.hslda.org for your state's requirements.)

Time Needed to Administer: 2 - 5.5 hours over 2 - 5 days.  (These grades can be tested together:  Grade 3 - 8 and Grades 9 - 11/12.) View/Print a Sample 2-Day Testing Schedule...

Scores and Reports: 

Handscoring:  (Any month of the year.) Will be mailed to you within 3 weeks from the date you return all testing materials. (Large groups 6 weeks.) 

Machine Scoring:  (During March - May) Will be mailed to you within 6 - 8 weeks from the date you return all testing materials.

 Group Discounts*:

25 - 40 = $2 off each test

41- 65 = $4 off each test

66+ = $6 off each test

*Group tests must be ordered by one person 4 to 6 weeks in advance.  Results will be shipped to that person to distribute to the group.

Note: Form A is not available for states IA, MO (Grades 9 - 12), NV (Grades 4, 7, 10), and Dallas ISD. Those states have to use Form M which is available in handscore format only.
